Maison Atelier

About the studio

A small studio with a long view.

Maison Atelier began in 2012 at a borrowed kitchen table in Marylebone, with one client and a strong opinion about skirting boards. Today we are a team of eleven designers, architects and stylists — still small enough that every project gets a founder's eye.

We work slowly where it matters and quickly where it doesn't. Our homes are layered, tactile and made to be lived in hard: places where children can spill things and the sofa only gets better with age.

The founder

Céleste Marchand

Founder & Creative Director

“I want people to walk into their home at the end of the day and feel their shoulders drop.”

Trained in architecture in Lyon and furniture making in London, Céleste spent a decade designing hotels before founding the studio. She still sketches every concept by hand.

What we value

Four quiet promises

  • Listen first

The brief is a conversation, not a form. We ask a lot of questions before we draw a single line.

  • Made to last

We specify materials and makers that will still look right in twenty years.

  • Honest budgets

Clear fees, transparent pricing and no surprises at the end of a project.

  • Lighter footprint

We reuse what we can, buy local where possible and avoid fast furniture.
