The brief

A chef-owner opening her first restaurant wanted a room that felt like a friend's dining room — only better lit.

Café corner with hanging plants on a steel grid and tan leather armchairs

The challenge

A long, narrow former shop with a low ceiling and a kitchen that had to stay visible from every seat.

Dark restaurant tables set with wine glasses and candlelight
Dining room with navy velvet chairs, white tablecloths and a wall of wine

The solution

Timber slats run the full length to stretch the room and hide services, while clustered rattan pendants drop the light low over every table. A planted bar at the front softens the street and brings in walk-ins.
